My Approach

When I first started my private practice, I spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of therapeutic space I wanted to provide my clients at Alpenglow Counseling. I have always been drawn to the mountains, and I kept returning to the idea of replicating the feeling I have when I’m in the wilderness. The concept of Alpenglow Counseling first came to me when I was thinking about the experience of the sun rising and setting in the mountains. Alpenglow has always brought feelings of wonder and awe at the natural untamed beauty of the world. But even beyond that has been a calming peace away from the overwhelming noise of life, a feeling of safety and stability in the midst of chaos, a vitalizing connection with myself and others, and a sense of empowerment as I stand shadowed by commanding peaks and ancient forests. Alpenglow is the hope we all need. And that is what I strive to bring to my clients. My goal is to help people discover their own purpose and meaning, and to create a sense of stability in their lives. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to explore their world, their internal experiences, and their relationships with others. I consider it an honor when someone allows me to be a part of the journey into their own wilderness.
